It's baaaacckk! Winter that is. Brrrrr, was it cold today, and I was happy to have quilt kits to work on and stay inside. We didn't really get any snow to speak of but it seemed that a heavy cloud was just settled over the valley here and the trees all frosted up. It was really very pretty.

I got a Menu Plan Monday post up over on my cooking blog. And I posted my Mexican Pork Chops and Rice recipe that I made tonight. I used some of the serrano chiles that Krystal gave me and it had quite a kick, but a tasty choice for a cold day.

I hope I can get Sheila to install the new template tomorrow on Rainbow Creek Kitchen. I have just been so busy that I haven't gotten in touch with her yet to get it set up. Got 5 quilt kits shipped today and hope that some more sales will come my way this week. I have 4 more sold on the bay that I am waiting on payment for so not complaining for now. She wanted to send a money order which ebay does not allow any more but I have been known to break a rule from time to time ; )

Tomorrow will be fun. I get to pick a project from my list of want to do's! Yaaay!

Miss Morgan's Big Day

Come on Max, it's time for Morgan's Birthday Party.

The Tattooed Mama threw a big bash for Morgan's 3rd birthday. When we got there Morgan was asleep on the floor, exhausted from a long week of anticipation I am sure.

Cassidy showed up with some makeup and got Morgan prettied up for her big day.

The balloons are a big hit, until they hit the pointy things on those cottage cheese ceilings and blow up!

WE WANT CAKE!
and you all just make us stand here and take pictures. David did not get any cake but he wanted to get in the picture anyway.

Max made a special worm cake for the party. It was quite delicious actually.
Morgan loves presents. I don't know where she gets that from.

Uncle Matt organized a game of Candyland.

A Glorious Spring Day?

I guess this is one of the benefits of living in Colorado, if you have to live somewhere that has winter anyway. We always seem to get these little breaks in the weather, that kind of lift your spirits. Today was supposed to get up to about 70 degrees. I'll take any January day that is 70 degrees!

I tried to get a pic of the thermometer on the deck, didn't turn out so good even with photoshopping it. The sky was actually a much prettier darker blue, but I had to brighten it to get the thermometer to show. I hate my camera! It's on my list of things that must be replaced one of these days.

I got my heat bill this week and it was a whopper of a bill! Last month was really cold, so I am very grateful for the warmer weather even for a few days.

Most people think Colorado is Arctic cold all the time but most of the snow stays in the mountains and temps are usually more moderate here than the midwest or northeast. This picture was taken a couple days after Thanksgiving in 2005. The kids were having a picnic and riding their bikes.

And this one was taken the very next day. I guess in Colorado you get to have all the seasons in one week sometimes. It has been so nice here the past week that Morgan keeps looking out her window at the pool and asking if they can go swimming. But I think it is supposed to snow again on Friday. Sigh.

OK, Here is the chatter blog

First post on this blog. This is the place for family, friends and chatter.

I hope to keep this spot updated with all my mundane odds and ends, this and thats.

And don't be shy! Leave a comment every now and then too. What do you think?

Oh yeah, I guess this post will need a pic just to get things started.

We got an invitation in the mail today for a very special Birthday Party for a special almost 3 year old girl. Max and Ruby are invited too! And TaTa says there might be a Worm Cake. Yuck.
